THE JAM STREET TEAM

Jam Street School of Dance has been in operation for over 28 successful years, training pupils to professional standard in many different dance styles. We have classes for children aged 6 months  to adults, some enjoy coming along every week for fun while others live & breathe dance therefore have ambitions of making a career out of performing and fulfilling their dreams. We have pupils currently performing professionally all over the world and many are taking their first steps attending dance college. We pride ourselves in teaching to a high standard and in turn are very proud of all our pupils & their achievements. We believe dance is for everyone & aim to nurture each student to the best of their individual ability. Our classes are a fun way of meeting new friends while exercising & learning the latest techniques. Check out our Facebook page for pictures and our latest news!

Lucy Reid

Lucy began taking classes at JamStreet at the age of 3, beginning with just tap and ballet she quickly went on to fill her week up with lots of classes in all different styles. She grew up performing annually in shows and sitting B.A.T.D exams in tap, ballet and disco. She continued her training at Dance Studio Scotland where she gained her HNC in Dance Artistry and is now studying Musical Theatre at New College Lanakshire. From her training at JamStreet she has been lucky enough to work with companies such as RCV and The Powerhouse Project, taking part in filming projects and having performing opportunities at CYD? MainStage, Together Again Festival, Elevate Dance Events and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Lucy always loved assisting with classes growing up and feels so lucky to now be able to lead her own classes. The JamStreet family have always been a huge part of her life and she feels privileged to be taking a new role in the community! ‘ I think it’s so special to be a part of the pupil’s dance journey’s the way my teachers were a part of mine, I have so much gratitude for the opportunity to inspire our next generation!’ She looks forward to seeing the growth in the pupils and is enthusiastic to create a fun and safe space to learn, reminding the pupil’s of why they love to dance.
